  • Can assist in the development and promotion of exciting, innovative leisure programmes in order to increase the usage and profitability of the Centre.
  • Can assume shift management responsibility for the centre to maximise the total performance of the centre and maintain the highest standards of customer care. Can act as a member of the Leisure Centre Management Team on a shift rota system, during opening hours of the Centre.

  • Have a recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development or related subject or have to knowledge and are looking to achieve such qualification

  • Has a Pool Plant Operators qualification or is able and willing to achieve this qualification.
  • Has a current NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or previously held one and is able and willing to achieve the qualification.

OVERVIEW

Leisure Focus is looking for a HR & Wellbeing Manager to take the lead role in ensuring the Trust complies with all aspects of employment law.

The role will support the facilitation of positive employee relations and a high performance culture through the provision of tailored advice and guidance to managers and ensuring comprehensive employment practices and procedures are in place and adhered to throughout the employee life cycle.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary objectives for the HR & Wellbeing Manager will be: 

  • Manage and oversee employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and redundancy providing comprehensive advice, guidance and support to managers.
  • Advise managers on the terms and conditions of employment and knowledge share best practice with them.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures, to drive performance and mitigate disputes and ensure these are regularly reviewed and kept up to date.
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice at all times.
  •  Implement learning and development policy and manage the trusts apprenticeship schemes.
  • Liaise with the Admin Manager to ensure all employee records are up to date and payroll changes actioned.
  • Work with appropriate parties on reward strategy.
  • Act as a champion for employee wellbeing including the development and introduction of supportive strategies and activities.
  • Deliver training as and when required on people management related subjects.
  • Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies.
  • Support the recruitment process as necessary – this may include writing job descriptions and preparing interview questions and application forms etc.
  • Support and maintain oversight of new starter inductions.
  • Manage talent and succession planning.
  • Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the trust.
  •  Support change management processes.
  • Other duties as required as no job description can cover every issue that may arise.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven generalist HR experience across all elements of the employee lifecycle.
  • CIPD qualification (minimum Level 5)
  • Strong problem solver with exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application.
  • Personal drive and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with the highest levels of discretion and diplomacy.

  • Can assist in the promotion and marketing of the centre, its services and facilities, which entails outreach in the surrounding areas

  • Can maximise cross-selling and up-selling opportunities through proactive initiatives
  • Can handle membership enquiries and bookings
  • Can answer telephone calls efficiently and effectively within the company standards. 
  • Can have a good understanding of the trusts social media platforms, including website and app so you can assist customers with any issues
  • Can control customers entering the Leisure Centre, issuing receipts where required

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Can actively promote membership packages within the centre in line with targets set by the from the Sales Manager/Centre Manager 
  • Can achieve targets and meet deadlines
  • Can assist in delivering the highest level of customer care, including meeting regularly with existing members to ensure the level of service is maintained
  • Can assist in the promotion and marketing of the centre, its services and facilities, which entails outreach in the surrounding areas
  • Can maximise new business conversion through effective sales closure
  • Can maximise cross-selling and up-selling opportunities through proactive initiatives
  • Can handle membership enquiries and bookings
  • Can answer telephone calls efficiently and effectively within the company standards. 
  • Can have a good understanding of the trusts social media platforms, including website and app so you can assist customers with any issues
  • Can control customers entering the Leisure Centre, issuing receipts where required

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary objectives for the Food and Beverage Assistant will be:

  • To supervise the day to day operations of the bar and catering facilities.
  • To ensure the highest possible standards of Health and Safety and customer care.

The Food and Beverage Assistant will focus day to day on the following tasks:

  • To supervise the day to day operation of the bar, restaurant and kitchen of the Centre.
  • To prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with the requirements of the Centre.
  • To undertake front of house bar duties as necessary.
  • To ensure that all food is covered, stored, labelled and dated to meet the food safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 or the terms of subsequent legislation.
  • Make sure that food is handled, stored, prepared and served in such a way and such condition as to prevent contamination of food and drink.
  • To ensure that the kitchen and bar areas are entered only by authorised persons.
  • To ensure that the vending machines are maintained on a regular basis
  • To ensure that all cleaning duties are completed whilst on shift.
  • To ensure that all injuries involving staff and members of the public are reported to the Centre Manager.
  • To record any complaints and to pass to the Centre Manager.
  • To ensure all Health and Safety procedures are carried out at all times.
  • Ensure that a consistently high level of service is delivered to customers.
  • To assist in the management of the Centre’s quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • To undertake cleaning duties as required.
  • To undertake any regulatory requirements.
  • To be responsible and accountable for cash handling as required. 
  • Ensure that company financial regulations are adhered to in terms of cash handling.
  • To ensure that a safe and efficient service is provided for the public.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Centre Manager to ensure that the business objectives of the contract are achieved

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • The post holder will preferably hold a recognised qualification in Catering, or related subject, first aid certificate and Food and Hygiene Certificate along with strong knowledge of the Leisure or related industry in a small/medium sized enterprise.
